- I grew up in a Mennonite dairy farm on the prairie grasses of Kansas. While that sounds really intriguing, it wasn’t. What it translates to is this: work, work, work and no dancing. Even with all the religious upbringing, somehow I had missed the part that I needed to ask Jesus into my heart. I am sure they mentioned it in my Mennonite church. Somehow it never impressed me. Perhaps I heard vanilla-flavored religion and what I was looking for was something more like mint-strawberry-banana-rocky-road-on-a-chocolate-mountain flavored religion. Whatever the reason, I would be on my way to hell right now if a woman I worked with that summer had not been passionate about her faith during the summer of 1972. I write “Lessons I’ve Learned Since I Admitted the Fact that I’m Older than You” & Christian lyrics with passion. I blog-dance around a world of people yawning their way to hell; blog-bunny-hop around bored Christians with humor, honesty & humility; & blog-trip-the-light-fantastic with the life-changing, mint-strawberry-banana-rocky-road-on-a-chocolate-mountain flavored gospel of the blood of the Lamb.
